This can happen if your where born overseas and your birth country is unable or unwilling to provide a replacement certificate. 

You can make a STATDEC via the MyGovID portale without the need to find a JP or go to a police station.

"In the development of my security clearance, I have been asked to provide amplifying information regarding my birth documents.

I was born on DOB in TOWN, COUNTRY. However, no sufficient official birth certificate issued at the time by the municipal authorities. Despite subsequent efforts for contemporary birth certificate, I have been unable to obtain one.

To confirm and support my date of birth, I provide the following documents, all of which consistently record my date of birth as DOB and have been accepted by the Australian Government for the purposes of identity verification and citizenship. I was granted Australian Citizenship on DATE (Evidence No: 123456789):

• Australian Citizenship Certificate – dated DATE, Evidence No: 123456789, confirming my full name and date of birth.
• Passport – Passport No: V123456, COUNTRY, issued on DATE, showing my full name, date of birth (DOB), and place of birth (COUNTRY).
• Driver Licence – Licence No: NUMBER, issued by Transport for STATE, displaying my name, date of birth, and photograph.
• (IF APPLICABLE) Affidavit-styled original (OLD) Birth Certificate – Certificate number NUMBER, issued by COUNTRY Authorities, confirming my date of birth as DOB.

These documents were deemed sufficient by the Department of Home Affairs and collectively form a consistent and verifiable record of my identity and date of birth. In the absence of an official birth certificate, I request that the enclosed documentation be accepted as valid evidence of my birth date."

Eligibility for an Australian Government security clearance requires Australian citizenship, assessed by the sponsoring entity before clearance request, and a checkable background, determined by the AGSVA during vetting.

The lifetime of a clearance depends on the level held. Reviews are conducted at the intervals below:

Baseline – 15 years

NV1 – 10 years

NV2 – 7 years

PV – 7 years

A clearance can be deactivated when the sponsorship of an individual is withdrawn. This is most likely to happen with the termination of a project or equivalent full-time employment. An individual may also lose sponsorship if they breach any standards set for holders of a security clearance.

AGSVA will email you with details of your clearance once it has been granted. If it is required, you can show this email to a prospective employer. However, a security officer in the prospective employment organisation is required to verify your security clearance status before employment commences.

Eva’s Ridge Enterprises can issue a letter to any interested parties stating the level of clearance held if requested by an individual.

It is not advisable to list your clearance on LinkedIn or Seek etc.

Your clearance will be cancelled if the project agency is your clearance sponsor. If the project is transferred to a new agency, your sponsorship can be transferred at the discretion of the new agency.

No change to projects will be after your clearance if Eva’s Ridge Enterprises is your clearance sponsor.

Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the quality and accuracy of the information you provide. The AGSVA aims to process applications within the timeframes outlined below:

Baseline – 20 business days.

NV1 – 70 business days.

NV2 – 100 business days.

PV – 180 business days.

Beyond the accurate and efficient submission of an application to AGSVA, Eva’s Ridge Enterprises has no control or influence on the time taken to process an application and return an outcome. We can engage as the authorised representative of the client to facilitate the confirmation of requirements, issues, or errors.

  • Partner, parents, and anyone over 18 living with you (names, DOB, addresses, jobs, citizenship).

  • Overseas relatives and official foreign government contacts.

• Financials

  • Tax returns, salary, expenses, loans/debts, income sources, inheritances, investments, credit cards, superannuation, assets, and business interests.

• Life History

  • Employment, addresses, and education (timeframes vary by clearance level).

  • Overseas travel (last 10 years or since age 16).

  • Passport details.

  • Social memberships, legal proceedings, and prior clearances (if applicable).

You’ll need to upload documents such as:

  • Proof of citizenship (passport, parent’s docs, or certificate).

  • Photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence).

  • Medicare or ADF ID card.

  • All passports (current/expired/cancelled).

  • Bank/credit card statements (last 3 months).

  • Last tax return and tax assessment.

  • Recent payslip.

Referees play an important role in the security clearance assessment, helping to support information provided by you and collected during the vetting process.
When selecting your referees, consider the following:

• Where possible, referees should be Australian Citizens or permanent residents. Where this is not possible, referees should be citizens of the USA, Canada, the UK, or New Zealand. Referees from other countries may be considered, however additional coverage may be required.
• A referee must know you in either a personal or professional capacity; they cannot be related to you, or be a partner/ex-partner.
• A referee must have had regular contact with you over an extended period of time.
You may nominate multiple referees to cover different times over the checkable period where individual referees have not had continuous contact with you.
Please ensure your referees are available to be part of the process. One cause of delays during a security clearance process is the availability and responsiveness of referees.

ERE Establishment fee
The fee to facilitate, raise and establish your clearance. There are consdierable costs nad work required to do this eg relevent sponsor checks, lciensing, data securitty, DISP accreditation and linking MyGoV ID profiles.      

AGSVA FEE
This is the Fee AGSVA charges to raise the Clearance on the 'My Clearnace' Portal after we establish your account. Fees can be seen here. 

ANNUAL MANAGEMENT - On the anniversery of your clearance awarding date, you will be billed for the next 12 months to retain sponsorship.
